Three Ways to Unlike a Page on Facebook

2012 May 07 | admin

Sometimes when you log into Facebook you there is too much noise going on. So much so that you may not even remember liking the page you are receiving updates from or you feel like you are seeing too many updates from just one page. I spent some time today explaining to my mother how to "unlike" a page on Facebook or hide them from your news feed. So in honor of Mother's day I decided why not tell all Moms out there and everyone online wondering how do I unlike a page on Facebook? There are many ways to do it and all are just a click away. So without further ado here are "Three Ways to Unlike a Page on Facebook" and Happy Mother's Day!

This is when you log into Facebook to see what your friends, family, and your interests are up to. Facebook is a very social and personal network so sometimes when a business over promotes themselves it is a turn off to fans. At this point they generally would like to unlike your page or hide you from their news feed. This is a simple option you can do with a click of a button. Here are three ways on how to do so.

Option 1 Hide all from your Newsfeed:

You can scroll over on the right and an arrow will appear when you click on it you will see a few options. You can "Hide all" from your newsfeed this means that you will not see any updates from this page unless you go to their page directly the updates will not be shown any longer in your newsfeed. You also have the option to "hide story" which will only hide this one particular story. Lastly you can "report story or spam" if it appears to be something spammy or abusive. If you click this by accident you can also click to undo it. With this option you will still like their fan page but will not see their daily updates.

Option 2 "Unlike" the Fanpage:

You can click on the link for the page you would like to completely remove and "unlike." This means you will no longer be a fan of the page so you will not be connected to it in any way and you will not see any news from them again in your news feed. Rather than click on the company you can also do a search at the top of Facebook looking for the name of the company you want to unlike or go directly to the link if you know it like http://Facebook.com/companyname. Once you arrive on the fan page that you want to unlike you can click on the Liked button and see the "unlike" option below and click on it. As you can see in the second image you can also click on the circle and arrow on the right and you have the same option to "unlike." Once you click unlike you are no longer a Facebook fan of that page. If you wish to like them again you can click the Like button right after that and you will once again be a fan of that page.

Option 3 Do a Mass Cleanup of Removing Pages that you have Liked:

If you are overwhelmed by the amount of news you are getting in your newsfeed or you feel like you like too many pages and you can't even remember which ones you can find those on your own page. Go to your Facebook page and on the righthand side arrow click on it. Then click on the Like Box to view all your likes. You can then select "more" to view all your music likes or movie likes etc. and click on "edit" you will see the names of all the pages you like you can go in and delete them in bulk and then you will automatically unlike that page then you need to click "done editing" in order for it to be saved. You delete by using your scrolling bar and clicking the delete button.
